Thunderbird is one of the popular E-mail client applications. The recent version of the application provide user friendly operations for backing up and importing of messages , address book contacts. Some users face challenges when importing address book from recent versions of Thunderbird. In this informative post , one such tried and tested simple method is shared if user has forgot to take a manual export of the contacts.
Step 1 : Locate the files in the user profile directory
In recent versions of Thunderbird , the contacts are stored in .sqllite extension file in encrypted format.
Default location of the files under user profile directory : (Assuming root folder is under c:\)
c:\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<somefilename>.default-release\
Files with below extension
* abook-1.sqllite
* abook-2.sqllite
* history.sqllite
Step 2 : Import the file
Under Address Book , import settings - select above files one by one and import the contacts to the desired address book
